Bishop Hill Heritage Association

The Bishop Hill Heritage Association was organized in 1962 with the original goal of saving the Colony era buildings that were in disrepair and restoring them to functional use. They continue to maintain these historic properties and the culture unique to Bishop Hill.

Bishop Hill Old Settler's Association

The Old Settlers' Association was organized in 1896. In 1953, the BHOSA purchased and restored the 1861 Colony School. The schoolhouse, kitchen and grounds are available to rent for meetings, parties, and special occasions.

Bishop Hill State Historic Site

Administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Bishop Hill State Historic Site consists of period buildings and artifacts donated and purchased from the Colony Period.

Henry County Historical Society

Since 1963, the mission of the Henry County Historical Society, in Bishop Hill, IL, is to bring together those people interested in the history of Henry County and to collect and preserve articles of historical value to pass onto future generations.

VASA Order of American Archives

The Vasa Archives are designed to preserve the Swedish culture in America and Canada. Visitors can utilize the Archives to complete genealogical research.

Bishop Hill Arts Council

For more than three decades the Bishop Hill Arts Council has promoted the arts and artisans that reflect the traditions of Bishop Hill. The Arts Council sponsors performing and visual arts events and activities throughout the year.
